Magic Circus, Discoveryland & Adventureland

During our stay at Paris Disney, we stayed at a Disney hotel called the Vienna House Magic Circus. It was a darling hotel that was themed after vintage circuses but also had tons of fun mini rides and arcade games for the kids.

We found a great deal on their "family rooms" so our rooms both had super fun bunk beds. The theming of the rooms was pretty adorable.

We would have breakfast in the dining room every morning, which was decorated like a big circus tent.

Day two in the park, Beth and I had some sister time in the afternoon, while Reece and V went back to the hotel for nap time. We spent our time in Discoveryland and Adventureland.

In Discoveryland, Paris' version of Tomorrowland, I really wanted to ride Space Mountain since it was the one ride I really wanted to ride but couldn't fit it in last time I was here. And Bethy really wanted to tour Captain Nemo's submarine. So we did both!

The Space Mountain in this park is much more intense than the one in Disneyland, it was full of surprises! I loved it, but wouldn't recommend it to people who get sick easily, I'm glad neither of us got sick from all the twists and turns.

I was happy to see Walle and Eve are represented in this park! How adorable is this statue??

We didn't do the Jedi Training Academy, I just thought the design of the sign was pretty cool.

Bethy has been a long time fan of Jules Verne with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea being one of her all time favorite books, so needless to say, she was pretty excited to explore the Nautilus.

The Nautilus is so much fun to explore, there are tons of super cool details, it was pretty dimly lit so getting pictures was challenging.

Another one of Bethy's favorite Disney rides is the Haunted Mansion, so it was definitely on our to do list. The Paris version, called Phantom Manor is NOT kid friendly, it is pretty scary, so we made sure to fit it in while V was napping. The story behind this ride is so bizarre, if you ever have time to spare or especially if you ever ride it, google the story. I didn't know that story the first time I rode it with my parents a few year prior, and we were all so confused as to what was happening.

After being slightly traumatized by Phantom Manor, we headed through Frontierland to get to Adventureland to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.

I really love Paris' Adventureland and always wish I could spend more time there, but there aren't a lot of main attractions there so I usually just pass through, but it's really cool.

I feel like we had decided to do a scared face look for this photo...? maybe...? It's kind of hard to tell with our sunglasses, but we both look a little unsure so I think that's what's happening ....

We were surprised to discover this version of Pirate's has a huge drop! and they take photos! since we didn't know either of those things, the photo captured our genuine reaction to the ride. Apparently, we were the only ones surprised by the drop ...

By now, nap time was over and we met up with Reece and V in Fantasyland. We toured through some of the enchanting stores next to the castle.

Then we took a spin on the carousel, V was in heaven.

Then it was time to do all things Alice in Wonderland. First, we happened upon the Queen and the White Rabbit. V couldn't decide if she wanted to wait in line to meet them or not. In the end, she was too nervous about the Queen, so we moved on to the Teacups.

The teacups has always been V's favorite ride. It was the first ride she ever rode at Disneyland, and she has been smitten with it ever since.

There is the cutest photo op of the Mad Hatter's tea party that V absolutely loved, and she fit right in with her Alice dress.

V was very sure she wanted to meet Alice and the Mad Hatter. We stood in line and V could barely contain her excitement the entire time. She had a wonderful and quite long conversation with Alice and loved pointing out that they had "matchy matchy" dresses.

We spent a long time wandering through the shops on Main street. Each store had different theming, and the decorations were magical.

We also made sure to check all the stores for must-try Disney treats, the treats are a HUGE part of the Disney experience. We were disappointed to discover that treats don't seem to be as big in Paris Disney, we did get a meringue Mickey and a coconut dusted marshmallow Mickey to try, neither was that good ...

The last ride of the day was Autopia, this is Reece's favorite Disney ride. I had the pleasure of getting to ride with V, I let her drive and it was a bumpy ride. V loved feeling so grown up and driving a car though, she had a blast!

As we were leaving the park, we stopped to watch the firework show, we had a pretty good view of it from Discoveryland. We had seen the show from the castle the night before, pictures from that coming in the next post.
