Leaving the Lake

The day we left Lake Como, Reece woke up early to catch the train back to Milan to pick up a rental car and drive back to pick up us girls and drive to our next destination. Meanwhile, Beth and I packed up and cleaned the airbnb which we had to be out of by 10 am. We had planned out the whole rental car situation so that we would only have to wait an hour or two before Reece was back to pick us up.

We set up camp in a small park right on the waters edge, it was a beautiful place to hang out and relax. However, our two hour wait turned into an all day fiasco as Reece had a hard time securing the kind of car we needed and had to go to several rental places to find one.

Luckily, the weather decided to warm up so we had sunshine and blue skies and our nice little park to entertain V. This may have been her favorite day of the entire trip, she got to play at the park all day long!

V and I put our feet in the Lake, it was freezing but V squealed with delight each time the water would hit our feet.

Beth and I took turns going on walks with V to get a change of scenery every once in a while. Beth and V wanted to go watch listen to a street musician play his accordion, I stayed behind to watch the bags and read my book.

We got pizza for lunch and had a picnic in the park, while V played

It was a looooong day, but eventually Reece made it back with the car. There was a sweet lady selling homemade soaps next to the park who had watched us all day, when Reece picked us up, she gave us a couple of free soaps because she knew it had been a rough day for us. I also think she was relieved that we got picked up and that everything worked out for us in the end.

We packed up our car and began the drive to Tyrol. We arrived at our hotel after midnight and the sweet owner of the hotel just handed us our keys and told us to check-in in the morning since he could tell we were exhausted and needed sleep. It was quite the day.
