Our last day in the Tyrol Valley was dedicated to enjoying our hotel and all the relaxing amenities it had to offer. We began with a delicious, healthy breakfast of locally sourced, organic offerings. I ordered some hot chocolate to accompany my breakfast this morning, as there was a chill in the air, it hit the spot.
I looked forward to having some of this homemade jam every morning. I usually am not a fan of jam and usually pass it by, but these jams were fresh, and flavorful and were too good to pass up.
After breakfast, we sat out on the front porch, bundled in blankets from the hotel to enjoy peace and quiet that comes from appreciating the outdoors. The Dolomites played peekaboo from behind the clouds all day.
The hotel had several toys for Vienne to choose from, she chose the bin of legos and was as happy as could be playing with her legos while we chatted and enjoyed the morning.
After a few hours of front porch sitting, we decided to order a light lunch and eat on the front lawn.
We ordered several dishes and ate it family style, so we could all try a little bit of everything. My favorite was the Mezzelune, a traditional Tyrolean pasta dish. Ours was filled with ricotta cheese and served with a rich herbed butter sauce, it was heaven.
When we were in Innsbruck, Beth and Reece had bought Vienne a couple of Austrian presents that they wanted to surprise her with. So, after lunch they got her dressed in one of her presents, an adorable dirndl then brought her outside to play and then surprised her with her other gift. This was her reaction when she saw it ...
V loves the violin. She will often as Ga Ga to play his violin, and she will play along on an itty bitty toy violin. So, when B & R saw this perfectly sized violin that plays a song when you tap it with it's bow, they knew it would be the perfect surprise. V was thrilled!
This cow surprisingly loved the sound of this toy violin, and came over for it's own, private concert.
Beth and I had signed up to get massages in the spa in the afternoon. So Reece and V took naps and played in the hotel's play room while we spent some time getting pampered.
After our massages and some very relaxing quiet time in the spa recliners, we went for a quick dip in the hot tub. We had the place to ourselves and had front row sets to watch the sun set over the rolling, green hills. It was pure bliss, and the perfect way to end our luxurious stay at the lovely Hotel Tyrol.
