Ocean Riviera Paradise, Cancun

In May of 2018, Alexis and I took a trip to Cancun!

We stayed at the Ocean Riviera Paradise all inclusive resort. This hotel is a newly-built five-star resort located on the Riviera Maya seafront, very close to Playa del Carmen. It is noteworthy for its huge size, in addition to its modern architecture and striking Mediterranean-inspired interior design. The resort has multiple swimming pools, one of which is on the beach itself, just a few steps away from the ocean. The resort also has 10 restaurants and 12 bars and lounges, we stayed at this resort for a week and didn't even come close to seeing all it has to offer!

Since the resort is so large, there is a shuttle service that helps guests get around to all the different pools and eateries.

The rooms at the Ocean Riviera Paradise are spread across 4 different areas of the hotel: Daisy which is the family building, Privilege which is for high paying VIP guests, Edén which is closest to the beach and El Beso which is adults only. Our room was located in Eden so we could easily walk to the beach in just a couple of minutes.

Our beautiful and spacious room!

The pool located on the beach was our favorite hang out spot and is where we spent most of our time during the day.

I was sooooo excited when I saw one of these cute little guys wandering around the grounds of the hotel. Then I learned they are basically like the raccoons of Mexico and are considered a nuisance and nobody likes them, I still think they are pretty cute.

If we weren't at the pool, then we were at the beach. The resort had tons of beach side chairs and umbrellas available.

In the mornings we would pick up something delicious for breakfast, like these crepes, then head to the beach to get a good spot for the day. Life was good.

The Pez Vela restaurant is where we would often get something quick for lunch, they also had a drink station where we could get bottomless drinks all day everyday.

The beach area was also the perfect place to watch the sunset

During our stay, we watched a couple of storms blow in, it didn't rain much, but the clouds were dramatic and the winds were fairly strong which made for pleasant temperatures in the evening. It was insanely hot and humid during the day.

In the evenings, after dinner, we would often go sit by the pools. Technically the pools closed around 6 pm and we weren't really supposed to hang out by them at night, but it was just so nice to have them all to ourselves.
