Disney For Halloween 2021

Beth, the kids, and I got to celebrate our favorite holiday in our favorite place! Halloween in Disneyland!! I had been looking forward to this trip for such a long time, I was ecstatic when the time finally came!

V and I got to be buddies on the plane, she is so fun to hang out with. We played with some toys for half the time and then she colored the other half. I looked over at her at one point and she looked like such a little grown up, with her water bottle and her little cookies politely placed on her napkin and her concentrating so hard on her work, it was so cute. She is such an amazing traveler.

Once we landed in Long Beach, we got ourselves an Uber, dropped off all our luggage in our hotel room at the Park Vu Inn and then headed straight to downtown Disney! Beth and I have a tradition of always eating at the Jazz Kitchen the night  we arrive, it also ensures we get to spend time in Downtown Disney which I love.

The downtown decor this year was bright, happy and whimsical! We loved it so much! Beth and I were fan girling over all the cute pumpkin towers and the larger than life lollipops.

I had heard about Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit and thought it would be the perfect thing to do while we waited for our dinner reservation, I LOVE a fun scavenger hunt. We got our pumpkin board at World of Disney, the front told us the locations of the pumpkins (such a smart way of doing it) and the back had the cutest stickers of each pumpkin. When we got to the listed locations, we had to find the pumpkin to know which character sticker to put in it's place. At the end we could turn in our completed pumpkin for a "free" tumbler prize (the board cost $10) but we didn't think they were that cute so we just wanted the fun experience.

The pumpkins were so adorable, some were easter to find than others. V was amazing at spotting them, even when they were  super high up. She and I really had a great time with this activity, Monty was more interested in playing in the fountains. So Beth stayed with Monty while V and I finished the hunt.

The best scavenger hunt duo! (and cupcake, V's blue squishy unicorn)

This was so cute and so fun

The scavenger hunt didn't take as long as I anticipated, so Beth and I relaxed in the strollers while the kiddos bounced off the walls and slid down poles.

Then we spontaneously found ourselves in a game where the kids were pushing us all over the crowded walk ways of downtown. It. Was. Giggles. The kids thought it was hilarious, they couldn't see over the handles so we were constantly running into things. I was laughing so hard I could barely talk to try and help direct where we needed to go. And everyone that passed by us chuckled and we got a few comments like "you have the right idea!" or "that's genius" haha it is a fun memory.

Then it was finally time for dinner!!

Their shrimp and grits is my favorite thing to get, it's warm, creamy and comforting and so flavorful. Our server was so much fun, once he found out we were from Salt Lake, he wanted to talk all about the Real Housewives (the TV show on Bravo).

It's also usually tradition to get their famous bananas foster and have them flambĂ© it table side, but they weren't offering that because of Covid (#pandemiclife) but they were offering bananas foster beignets. Which sounded intriguing, but they just weren't  the same as having the real thing.

Then we enjoyed our stroll back to our hotel, the kids sat in the strollers this time ;) Disney's pumpkin and gourd displays were something else, they were amazing.

Once back at our hotel, we all excitedly changed into our jammies. We were all so tired from our travel day, but were all sooooo excited for our first day in the park! Monty had no idea what was coming, this was his first time ever to Disney!
