Dinner and The Blaze in Sleepy Hollow

For my birthday dinner, we rented cars and drove about an hour outside of the city to the Hudson Valley. Beth and Reece were our heroes and drove the cars, we had a boys car and a girls car.

I don't know about the boys car, but the girls car had a blast on the drive out, lots and lots of giggles and halloween snap chat filters.

We dined at the gorgeous Castle Hotel in Tarrytown.

My delicious flat bread appetizer

Reece got the lobster corn dogs for an appetizer, they were just too unique not to try. He let everyone have a little taste, and for someone who hates most seafood, I thought they were delicious!

V was a little restless, so we all took turns playing with her in the lobby. She loved these huge, leather chairs.

I got a special panne cotta birthday surprise!

As well as a few other tasty desserts for the table

After our delightfully delicious meal, we headed to the best halloween event I have ever attended, the epic Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze at the Van Cortlandt Manor.

"In this elaborate, hugely popular walk-through experience, see more than 7,000 illuminated jack o' lanterns, all designed and individually hand-carved on site by our team of artisans."

This star tunnel made entirely out of carved pumpkins was a favorite of the entire family. There were different light shows that would play out, creating beautiful rainbows of colors over head.

We all thought we had packed enough warm clothes for the chilly October weather, but after our walk to lunch, we knew we had to get a few extra layers to bring with us to this evening event. So we made a spontaneous trip to the Forever 21 right next to our hotel to load up on scarves, hats and gloves. Karin, Jenny and I all fell in love with these insanely soft scarves and just knew our lives wouldn't be complete without them.

The headless horseman

The intricate detail work on these pumpkins was mind blowing!

The dinosaur park was one of my favorite sections. I am fascinated by dinosaurs, and the creativity that went into creating life sized dinosaur skeletons out of jack o' lanterns was outstanding to me.

After walking through all the displays, we got hot cider to warm us up and caramel apples

V really wanted to take home one of the pumpkins for sale in the pumpkin patch we passed on our way out. She is such a doll!
