On our full first day, which was Thanksgiving Day, we headed to Hollywood Studios! This park won for best Christmas decorations! The entire park was dripping with festive garlands, wreaths and bows. Each store's decor was different, it was fun to notice the subtle, little details tucked in the sparkly garlands.
I love the art deco, old hollywood vibe this park has.
There aren't a lot of rides in Hollywood Studios, we rode pretty much every one and still had half a day left. Rock N' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and Star Tours are the main rides to hit in this park.
These cast members were rollin around the park, hosting a special Thanksgiving Day radio show and were interviewing guests.
I always loved popping in Sweet Spells treat shop to see what fun sweets they had. This cute store isn't in the park anymore, it was converted into a Toy Story store, which makes me a little sad. I thought it was so awesome to have a store themed after the villains.
Whenever I go to Disney, I love to research all the new, seasonal, or limited time treats and make a list of the ones I want to try. The list for this trip was super long since we were going to multiple parks as well as attending the Mickey's Christmas party which has it's own special treats. The treats with the stars by them, are the ones we were able to get and try, the ones with annoyed emoji faces are the ones we attempted to get, but they were sold out of, and the rest are just ones we didn't have time to get to! My treat lists are usually too long for the time I have or the room I have in my tummy.
These were the two treats I wanted to make sure and get while we were in Hollywood Studios. A red velvet, whoopee pie christmas tree, and a soft, chewy gingerbread Mickey. Disney makes the best gingerbread cookies ever and Hollywood Studios was one, of if not the only, place to get these special cookies.
I could not get over how adorable this Christmas tree was, and it was delicious!
Such fun cast members
We grabbed a quick lunch at the Backlot Express. They had a limited time entree of Darth Vader chicken and waffles, yes please! Savory sweet chicken and waffles is one of my favorite meals!
We also had to get one of these seasonal BB8 cupcakes, it was just too cute to pass up.
After our Star Wars themed lunch, we took an adventurous tour of the stars!
I am a geek for anything Star Wars, but only the OG ones.
As mentioned previously, we were able to fit in all the rides in Hollywood Studios before lunch, but we had scheduled a full day in this park so, we spent the afternoon seeing all the musical shows. First up was The Voyage of the Little Mermaid. This show started in 1992, and it's age shows a little bit in some of the scenes with the puppets ... but the live action parts were pretty cool. I loved Ariel's costumes.
Next up was, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. The costumes in this production are pretty fun.
After a full day in Hollywood Studios, we headed to the shuttle stop to catch a ride to Disney Springs for Thanksgiving dinner. When visiting Disney, there is always a lot of time spent waiting, we had a long wait for the shuttle, but we made the best of it!
Playing Heads Up is always a popular choice to help pass the time
V taking a turn
Vienne got this cuddly baby Bolt, she was so proud of it, she took care of him so tenderly.
Bethy using the stroller as a place to take a quick nap, is how all of us feel after a full day in a Disney park.
