Christmas Day 2018

Christmas morning!! I love our traditional Christmas morning breakfast of homemade sweet rolls frosted with freshly made icing, liberally brushed on by Dad. I love how Dad has made friends with Dorie by sneaking her little tastes of whatever he is making.

The week before the Burtons drove up to Utah for the holidays, Ricky woke up with Bells Palsy where he lost control the muscles on one side of his face. He was such a trooper during the holidays and showed up smiling and uncomplaining to all of our activities.
(It took a little longer than anticipated to clear up, but after a few months his face was back to normal)

Our annual picture on the stairs! It's getting super crowded and I love it!

Then it was present time in the best Christmas Room ever!

We let the kids take turns opening their gifts first, so they can be playing with their new toys while the adults take turns opening presents, it is a really good system!

V was thrilled with the lipgloss I gave her!

Thomas and James are super into The Wild Kratts TV show right now, so they were so excited to get these Wild Kratt outfits!

They literally couldn't wait to try them on.

Ben has been wanting a Ukulele for a while, so he was excited to get one for Christmas! He immediately started flipping through the music book that came with it and trying out some of the songs.

I gave Vienne a set of plastic, blow up dinosaurs, there were about 8 of them and they are about the same size as Vienne. It was a family effort to get them all blown up for her.

After all the kiddos had opened all their presents, it was time for the adults!

I got this gorgeous russian music box, I love it soooo much!

Mom and dad had fun picking out funny and cute shirts for all of us

Vienne made this necklace for Mimi all by herself, she was so excited to give it to her!

I give Mom and Dad a photo book of one of our Tauck Tour trips every year. This year I gave them the book for our Hudson Valley trip. It's always so fun to look through the books with them and reminisce about all the fun times we had on that trip.

The Burtons gave me these silly cat games, James and Thomas were especially excited to give them to me! I love them!

When presents were all done, the kids were excited to try out my new Cat game! It's similar to pictionary, but you incorporate cats into your drawings.

It had snowed pretty much all night and all day, so the kids were excited to get out and play in all that fluffy snow! They were such sweethearts and helped shovel the patios and walk ways.

They also spent a long time making all these perfect snowballs for an epic snowball fight. Oh to be a kid again!

It was a very lovely Christmas, full of all my favorite things, family, traditions, good food, snow, and lots of smiles and laughs.
