Our new tradition of having a white elephant gift exchange on New Years Eve continued this year with lots of laughs. V got the night off to a good start when she opened her gift, which was ginormous googly eyes, and made the most confused face.
She eventually warmed up to them and thought they were so silly haha.
Sam was OVERJOYED when he opened his gift and got the worlds largest Sugar Daddy.
Mike got this sequin Nicholas Cage pillow and he thought it was the funniest thing, he had such a good time playing with the sequins to making silly patterns and faces.
Bethy got this 3 pound Hershey bar which quickly became the envy of all the kids, it got stolen the max amount of times.
Dad got the Perfect Man hahaha
I ended up with a teeny tiny cook coo clock which I was actually pretty excited about and was glad no one stole it from me.
John got a sponge tray shaped like a little bed.
I don't remember who actually ended up with the Hershey bar, it might have been James, but he was nice enough to share with all the kiddos. By the time I made it upstairs, they had eaten more than half!
Then it was time to get ready for the big count down!
Happy New Year!!
2019 here we come!
James had been going around asking everyone to touch his stomach to feel how hard it is when he pushes it out.
Bethy gave him a run for his money with her pregnant tummy
We played games and did puzzles until early in the morning. Our family of night owls has no problem staying up past midnight.
The next day, we had a nice lazy day at home. My sisters and I often reference the classically creepy Return To Oz movie that we watched all the time as kids. None of the grandkids had seen it, so we decided to show it to them and let them in on the good memories we have of it.
The kids were surprisingly into it!
That night we went out for Chinese food to celebrate the New Year!
2019 is the year of the pig in the Chinese Zodiac.
Cheers to a new year!
