4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!! This is my favorite holiday, I love how festive it is, with so many fun traditions, and yet so low key at the same time, there are no gifts to worry about or intricate decorations to stress over getting put up and taken down, no costumes or special boxes to have to create. .  Its just such a laid back holiday that is centered around family, country and summer nights. Yet it's still a big enough holiday that people don't have to go into work and the whole country celebrates.

I love all the typical 4th of July BBQ foods, burgers, watermelon, buttery corn on the cob, chips they are all my favorite foods. I love the family time, I love the fireworks, I love being out enjoying the summer nights, I love the colors of our flag, I love our country, I love being patriotic, and I love our founding fathers and all they had to fight for in order to create such a beautiful country for us to live in. The 4th of July is just the best holiday ever.

Our annual BBQ at the griffins is always the perfect way to celebrate the best holiday.

Monty's first 4th!

We had ice cream bars and popsicles while we waited for it to get dark enough for fireworks!

Being such grown ups

The black snakes, the weirdest "firework" in all the combo packs.

Monty and Grammy stayed inside during the fireworks so the loud noises wouldn't freak him out. Look at all his hair! He is just so handsome.

Such a fun night, I loved every minute of it! The next day, Mom, Dad and I flew to Philadelphia to meet up with the Burtons for an American history tour, it was like extending the fun of the 4th of July for two weeks!
