Beth and I took the kids to see the ice castles in Midway. We hadn't seen the castles in a few years and it was fun to see how different and elaborate they have become.
They are so magical, they don't even look real!
We went at the perfect time, we got to see the sunset behind the castles as well as see the ice light up with different colored lights when it got dark.
Monty was so squishy in all this warm layers.
This was a fountain with lights that would change the color of the water, the kids were mesmerized by it
They had a slide that was a huge hit with the kids.
They also had horse drawn sleigh rides!
We got to pet the horses after our ride, they were so beautiful and so sweet, they loved being pet.
We got some hot cocoa, churros and cookies to help warm us up
We had so much fun at the castles! The kids absolutely loved it, it was fun to watch them experience the magic for the first time.
Before heading home, we got dinner at Lola's, it's the new restaurant that took over the old Timp Freeze location. They have turned it into such a cute place and the food was soooooo good, especially after being out in the cold. They have also engineered a way to be able to use the big outdoor patio space in the winter. they covered it in a big, clear plastic tent and had several heat lamps throughout the space. It was nice and cozy in there.
Beth had given us all matching sweaters, how cute are they? We were going to try and take photos in them at the castles, but it was way too cold to take off all our layers. So we documented them at dinner.
Such a fun and memorable night!
