Carmel-By-The-Sea

To celebrate Karin's 40th birthday, all the adults in the family (plus V) went on a little weekend get away to one of our most favorite places, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. We used to come to Carmel often when we were growing up, so our family has some fond memories of this gorgeous little, sea side town.

Beth and Reece had found an amazing house on Air BnB that had enough beds for our party of 8, plus some wonderful family hang out spots.

The living room view was the best part of the house. The entire wall leading out to the patio was large sliding doors, so when they are open, it felt like we were in an outdoor living space, and the view was breath taking.

We loved this sitting area and the fire pit, we spent quite a bit of time out here enjoying the perfect Carmel weather.

All the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, it was the perfect house for our weekend trip!

After arriving in Carmel, and getting settled into our luxurious Air BnB, we headed to Casanova for dinner. Karin and Ricky had a slightly later flight from Arizona, so they joined up with us after dinner.

One of Carmel's most romantic resturants, Casanova's offers beautifully presented French-Italian fare. The restaurant is divided into many small, decorative dining rooms, including one with a table from France where Vincent van Gogh took his meals!

We had fun ordering speciality mocktails, here we have:

Punchless Punch - Grape juice, Rose Water, Agave Nectar and Orange Juice
Calm Before the Storm - Ginger Beer, Pomegranate Juice, Pineapple Juice

We got a couple of appetizers for the table to share

Gnocchi Casanova: Spinach Gnocchi, Parmesan Au Gratin

Beautifully presented Deviled Eggs

We ended our meal with deliciously decadent desserts

After dinner we spent the evening hanging out at home, we took a quiz that determined which Disney cat you are, we giggled over the results all night
