Monty's Blessing

On New Years Eve day, we celebrated our newest family addition at Monty's baby blessing. For the invites, Bethy had hand painted different mountainscapes for each person. Above is the one she painted for the Griffins. On the envelope was a monogram Bethy had designed, Monty's full name is Montgomery Michael Madison. When placed together, the three M's kind of look like a mountain range, and Montgomery means mountain.

This is the beautiful paining I received in my invite.

It looks perfect on my living room rainbow shelves.

The decor was absolutely stunning, it was the perfect mix between warm holidays and beautiful mountains.

The food was absolutely delicious and it all looked so elegant together on the buffet.

Pear and sugared cranberry salad

Monty Cristo sandwiches

Matterhorn macaroons, just like in Disneyland!

These were my assignment. Bethy found a recipe and gave me all the ingredients to make them. I looked up a couple of directions online to get some tips since I hadn't ever made macaroons before. The best tip I found was to add a little almond extract, it brings out the almond flavor and makes them more flavorful all the way around. I was so happy with how they turned out! They were perfectly crispy on the outside, and so soft and chewy on the inside.

Dubie was an excellent host and greeted all his guests.

The blessing was beautiful, it was so fun to have Andrew be able to join the circle.

After the blessing, Bethy read Monty a sweet and loving poem she had written for him and we all raised our glasses in a toast.

Bethy painted this amazing and huge mountain masterpiece just for this occasion, she is so talented!

These two were the cutest buddies all afternoon.
