We were so excited to finally be able to go to the baby animal festival this year! We really missed doing these kind of fun things last year. It took us three tries, we got rained out twice where they didn't even open the festival, but on our third try we had plenty of sunshine and clear blue skies.
It's been fun to watch this cute festival grow over the years, this year they moved the animals so they were all in one section of the farm, it made seeing all the babies really easy and convenient.
We started with the baby chicks, they are always a favorite. These little guys were only three days old.
Getting to hang out with and pet the baby calves was a new experience for us this year, when we have gone in the past guests weren't allowed in with the cows, so that was exciting.
Then came everyone's favorite part, the pygmy goats. They are always so mischievous, silly and entertaining, they get into everything!
After we had visited all the animals, it was time to get lunch!
We couldn't resist getting some of these adorable caramel apples, we got the bunny for V and the chick for Monty.
Their burgers are so delicious, I look forward to them every year.
Their apple cider donuts are a must as well.
After lunch we headed over to attractions section where V had the time of her life going down the big slides over and over. Monty went down once and didn't like it very much, he wanted to stand at the top of the slide and tell everyone to "GO" and then watch them zip away.
She wanted to make videos as she went down, they were pretty cute.
We also bounced on the big blow up bounce pads and we tried do to the zip line but V was a little too short for it this year.
Next we fed the chickens, they were pretty aggressive lol
Next we went to check out the tulip field! This is the first year they have done this, they were inspired by how well their sunflower festival did that they put together last minute for something fun and safe to do during Covid. Their tulips were a little more finicky and didn't grow properly and it turned into a field of dwarfed tulips. The field was still really pretty but not nearly as full of color as they were hoping. We still loved it.
On the walk over there, Monty discovered the box of donuts in the wagon next to him, and helped himself to some donuts on the ride.
They planted over 40 varieties of tulips, daffodils and other bulbs. There were more than 250,000 bulbs in the field!
After tulips it was face painting time! V LOVES to get her face painted any chance she gets.
As we were packing up to leave, a guy came over to us and asked if we would like some tickets to feed the baby calves since his family wouldn't be able to use the tickets they got. I was excited about the opportunity and took him up on the offer. Everyone else was a little too tired at this point, but Mom and Monty came with me to watch.
They were very hungry babies!
Such a happy, fun filled day!
