Day two in Miami started with a delicious breakfast on the gorgeous terrace of Los Fuegos. I got their version of avocado toast, which turned out to almost be half eggs benedict, another on of my favorite breakfast dishes, it was amazing.
All three of us also couldn't resist these gorgeous strawberry ricotta croissants, so we got a few to go to enjoy throughout our day of adventuring around the city.
One of my favorite ways of seeing a city I haven't been to before is on a Big Bus Tour. They are so fun and relaxing and give you such a great lay of the land, and then you can pick which areas you want to go back to and explore. Our hotel had a Big Bus stop right outside w which was so convenient!
We got great views of the city skyline as we crossed the bridge from Miami Beach to downtown Miami.
We were really intrigued by the Wynwood Walls and art district, we made plans to come back and explore this vibrant neighborhood more the next day.
Little Havana
We got off the Big Bus Tour at Bayside, to catch a boat tour of Millionaire Row.
We had a few minutes to spare before boarding our cruise, so we strolled through the marketplace and looked through the tourist shops and the fun bakeries and restaurants.
We cruised between the different islands of Biscayne Bay and got views of all the gorgeous, waterfront mansions. Quite a few of these homes belong to celebrities, our tour guide would point them out as we sailed by.
Ricky Martin's home.
The big, white dome on top is a hot tub.
This home is often rented by celebrities, such as Usher and Shakira. Anyone can rent this home, it's only $50,000 a week to rent ;)
Julio Iglesias' home
Shakira eventually bought her own home here, it's very sleek and modern.
This magnificent property is the largest estate on Star island. It belongs to Dr. Phillip Frost a pharmaceutical billionaire who is sometimes linked to inventing viagra (which actually isn't true)
The Frost estate is built on three lots and has tennis courts and a garden house on property. Each of the palm trees on his property cost 10k each!
This is the house that Jennifer Lopez and Arod recently bought together which is awkward because they just broke up, and now she is back with Ben Affleck. Celebrity drama! Ben and Jen were actually in Miami while we were there. Lex and Laura asked every persons we met if they knew where Ben and Jen were staying.
David Beckham's house, second biggest after Dr, Frost's.
This is one of the oldest houses on the tour, it's owned by the creator of 1-800 Contacts. Bad Boys II and Wild Things were filmed here.
After our leisurely cruise we had a little down time to grab a little lunch before our speed boat adventure. We got some nachos to share at Hard Rock Cafe because we were in desperate need of some air conditioning and that was the only place that was fully enclosed, all the other places were open air.
Then it was time to feed our need for speed!
Laura and I love Manatees so much, they are such gentle giants. We were half hoping to see one and half hoping they weren't anywhere near the boats because they aren't smart/ fast enough to get out of the way.
We cruised around and got great views of the city and sailed passed some more celebrity homes. Then we headed out into the Atlantic ocean where they really cranked up the speed and whipped us around in the water while blasting fun music. We had such a blast!
After our cruises, we stopped by a store to fill up on room snacks then headed back to the hotel. We ordered in dinner from a delicious burger place, then headed to the pool for some more late night swimming and hot tubbing, the perfect evening.
