Our last day in Disney!
We admired th gorgeous fall flowers on our way to get Mickey Mouse pancakes. We took some pictures for Mom because we knew she would appreciate how beautifully they were planted.
Mickey Mouse pancakes have been a tradition since my sisters and I were little girls, and it's been fun to carry on the tradition with the next generation. When we were little, we would get them at the River Belle Terrace now they are served at the Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland.
They were a hit!
Our breakfast table had a view of the Casey Jr. Train, and Monty asked our entire meal if we could ride the train, so that was our first step after breakfast.
we took advantage of the cute Dumbo photo op while we waited in line.
Disney is full of the most magical, little details.
Monty had a marvelous time.
Then it was time to finally take Monty on the "whale ride." We had shown him videos of the Storybook Boats before our trip, and he only wanted to watch the part when they sailed through the whale mouth. He watched it over and over and over again. We think he was equal parts fascinated and scared. When he saw the whale for the first time in person, we couldn't tell if he really wanted to ride it or if he was terrified of it. So we let him ponder if for a few days, and today he was ready and excited.
In the whales mouth!!!
Another tradition my parents started when we were little, was taking pictures by the little door at the White Rabbit's house.
We caught one last halloween parade!
Beth lets her kids get on souvenir every time they come to Disney. They spend the entire trip looking through all the stores, making a list of possible items, and then on the last day they get to pick which one they want. V chose the most magical Elsa doll and water horse set, Monty chose a fan.
All week long, if Monty ever caught sight of one of these fans, he would run over to it and start playing with it. He was obsessed. We showed him all sorts of different toys that he could choose, but he really wanted the fan, it made him so happy.
With purchases in hand, we headed back to the hotel for nap time.
We stopped by Candy Palace to get some more room treats, and get our fortunes told by Esmeralda.
Halloween treats!
And I was finally able to get the Mummy Mickey cookies and cream macaron, the last halloween macaron on my "to try" list.
After nap time, we met up with the Griffins and headed to Tropical Hideaway for dinner.
Beth and I have always wanted to try their speciality Dole Whip, it used to come in a big bowl and have all sorts of toppings complete with chocolate covered Pocky sticks. But they have changed it so now it is a smaller, chile mango whip. It was still fun to try!
Pineapple and Mango Swirl Dole Whip, Chamoy, Mango, Chile-Lime seasoning
And of course we got plenty of bao buns, they are one of our new favorite snacks in the parks, they are so fluffy and delicious.
Nora had made a list of all the Halloween treats she wanted to try, so proud of her, and this pumpkin spice funnel cake from the Hungary Bear was on it. She popped over and got one while we were enjoying our Dole Whips, she let me have a bite and it was SO GOOD.
Then it was time for Jungle Cruise! This was the ride I had been asking to go on all trip long. I couldn't wait to go on it with Monty, I thought he would think it was really cool, it's also one of my favorite rides.
Monty was absolutely enthralled, he loved seeing all the animals. The piranhas were a little scary, he still talks about them.
I love this new end scene, much, much better than Sam the heads salesman.
Then we headed over to Haunted Mansion. The line stopped moving before we even got in the gates. We decided to wait it out for a little while, the Haunted Mansion usually gets things sorted out pretty quickly.
We waited ...
and waited .....
and waited and they still hadn't fixed it, so we decided to abandon ship and find some other rides to ride. Beth still had quite a few rides in Fantasyland that we wanted to take Monty on which the Griffins had already ridden earlier in the day. So we said our goodbyes and headed towards different rides.
Our little group headed to the teacups!
Then we went to check out the new Snow White ride. They made a few little tweaks so it wasn't as scary and there wasn't so much about the evil queen.
Even the queue area got a little makeover. This is so much cuter, before it was a dungeon with skeletons chained to the walls.
The new ride is M A G I C A L! We wholeheartedly approved of all the changes, it is such a fun, cute and colorful ride now. Way to make the change Disney, now what can you do about Pinnochio's Daring Adventure ....
In memory of Reece, we rode Autotopia, it was his favorite ride at Disney. The kids both loved driving.
Monty thought it was the coolest ride.
While in Tomorrowland, we stopped by the churro cart to the the pumpkin spice churro. As stated in a previous post, this was yummy, but we liked the plain churro with the pumpkin pie dipping sauce a little better.
We got the kiddos normal, cinnamon churros and they loved them.
For our last ride of the trip, we chose different things. Beth took Monty on Buzz's Astroblasters, and I took V on the skyrockets.
V and I were seated on the ride at the exact same time the fireworks started!! Talk about the best seat in the house!
After our amazing ride, we met up with Beth and Monty and got to walk in front of the castle right as the firework finale was happening. Talk about the best firework experience ever! We didn't need to fight crowds, or save seats for hours and we still got the best seat in the house. Thank you Disney magic!
Such a perfect ending to our Disney vacation. We slowly walked down Main Street, making sure there wasn't anything we had missed during our week long stay. I thought these Dapper Dan pumpkins were so adorable and I hadn't ever seen them earlier in the week.
