Birthday Lunch In Disney Springs

For my birthday, me and Angie went on a weekend trip to Disney World! I have always wanted to go to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party so it was the perfect place to celebrate turning 32. Interestingly enough, I had originally planned to go to Disneyland since it's closer to home, but Angie and Laura helped me price it out, and somehow it was cheaper to go to Disney World, so that's why we chose to go there!

We took the red eye flight and were able to check into our hotel right when we arrived which was so nice. We stayed at the Pop Century hotel in the 1950s building and we loved our stay. Our room had recently been renovated and it was so clean, cozy, compact and perfect for our stay. This is one of the 5 Value level Disney hotels, I really enjoy staying at these hotels, they make for super fun and comfortable stays.

The next day was the day of the Halloween party! Our party tickets allowed us to enter the park at 4 pm, so we had the morning to sleep in, which we definitely needed after flying through the night. After our nice relaxing morning, we headed to Disney Springs for lunch.

We hadn't picked out a specific place to eat when we arrived, but when we walked passed the Polite Pig and read the menu, we knew we had to try it.

The Polite Pig serves up southern BBQ and comfort food with a modern twist, they had a few fall speciality items that we could not wait to try. We basically wanted to order one of everything on the menu. While we were in line, waiting to order, we met this little cutie. We made friends with him and his owner, he was the sweetest little buddy who loves making new friends. May birthday trip was off to a great start!

When I said we wanted to order one of everything, I wasn't kidding, we got pretty close. We ordered the Butcher Board for 2 so we could try several of the meats and a few sides. The Butcher Board comes with pork shoulder, smoked chicken, brisket & bbq cheddar sausage with slaw, house pickles, 2 cornbreads and a choice of 2 market sides, we chose crispy brussels sprouts with whiskey-caramel and autumn roasted vegetables. We also threw in some parmesan sweet potato tots because how could we pass those up? For drinks we got the seasonal chilled apple cider and for dessert we got their seasonal custard pie.

It was the perfect meal, we loved everything!

I love sauce, so i get excited when there is a sauce bar! We tried all 4!

For second dessert we headed to Amorette's Patisserie, no trip to Disney Springs is complete with out a visit to this magnificent dessert shop. They had several seasonal treats that we were excited to try.

First, we tried their pumpkin spice Mickey macarons, they were so cute and delicious!

We really couldn't pick and choose which of the fall items we wanted to try, so we got one of each!

This was the Apricot Peach Verrine! It was made up of Dulcey chocolate mousse, buttermilk panna cotta, apricot gelee, and garnished with sugared almonds. All the flavors combined so perfectly, and it was so creamy.

Then came, the Pumpkin spice creme brûlée topped with pumpkin seeds and spiced whipped cream.

We also threw in a Whipped Pineapple Eclair because it was new. It was filled with pineapple cream, topped with a white chocolate piece, and — wait for it — finished with a miniature, pineapple-shaped passion fruit macaron! Although it's not a Dole Whip dessert, it certainly reminded us of the classic treat. It's sweet, tart, and buttery smooth and has a bit of crunch thanks to the slender strip of white chocolate on top.

Last, but certainly not least was this beautiful Fall Harvest Petit Cake. Amorette’s Patisserie is known for their Petit Cakes and this Fall Harvest Petit Cake was a winner! It was a cinnamon and nutmeg chiffon cake, layered with Calvados salted caramel mousse, cranberry cherry pate de fruit, and roasted hazelnuts. Every fall flavor you could ever want, in one, adorable, little cake.

We counted this as my birthday cake! It was so perfect!
