California Pink Tour: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

One thing we were all looking forward to doing in Santa Cruz was the beach boardwalk. It was within walking distance of our hotel, so the night we arrived, we walked right over.

First item of business was getting some carnival food for dinner. We choose corndogs and a giant donut.

Then we snapped some family photos on the beach.

Beth had brought cute Pink Ladies jackets for her, me and V. They looked so cute at the carnival.

Then it was time to ride some rides! We had to get some prepaid cards to use at all the different rides.

The kids picked a race car ride as their first ride. Adults weren't allowed on it so Beth and I cheered from the sidelines. V and Monty had the best time, it was so fun to watch them giggle and smile.

The next ride of choice was the carousal!

We asked Monty if he would take a picture of all three of us in our jackets, he was more than willing. He looked so adorable and so small holding the phone. A lady walked by and asked if she could help us and that is ultimately how we got our picture. But I thought it was so cute that Monty was willing to try.

We saw some pink cotton candy and couldn't pass up the opportunity.

And that  was all we could fit in the two hours we had before the boardwalk closed that night, we didn't realize it closed so early on the weekdays.

Back at the hotel we changed from our pink boardwalk outfits to pink swimsuits and went swimming and had some dinner door dashed to us.

The next day we went back to the boardwalk in the evening, it was a weekend so it was open later. I took V on the skycoaster while Beth took Monty on the carousal since he wasn't tall enough.

It was surprisingly chilly that night, good thing we had bundled up!

After our ride, V and I were walking back to meet up with Beth and Monty and we passed by a face painter. V LOVES to get her face painted so we had no choice but to get in line. I let her choose which design she wanted and she chose a cute little pink and white kitty.

She loved it!

It went perfectly with her kitty ear hoodie.

When we met up with Monty, he also wanted his face painted. He choose a black widow and we asked if the hourglass on her back could be pink.

He was thrilled.

I have been trying to add some childlike wonder and joy into my life and not act like such an adult all the time. So I thought it would be fun to get my face painted as well. I chose a flower crown design. Beth got one too!

We grabbed some dinner and then it was time to head home. The boardwalk is so much fun, we never had enough time there!
