A Relaxing Weekend Getaway

A couple of weekends ago I went to St. George with a group of friends and it was an absolute blast! A group of us met up the night we drove down and had a yummy dinner of burgers and shakes at Sammy's before we began the drive down. We stayed at a beautiful house that was an absolute dream to lounge around in. It had the most comfortable couch that was huge! That is where we spent the majority of our time. Bethy and I got to stay in the pretty princess bunk bed room, that was decorated in purple and teal! These first two pictures are the view from the balcony that was off the comfy living room. On our first day we had a delicious breakfast of fruit and yogurt parfaits with freshly made granola, it was very refreshing. We also needed to save up room in our tummy's for lunch at Haven, the coolest restaurant that I have ever been to. The decorations made me feel like I was in a posh upscale New York restaurant. I thought it was cool that the majority of their menu was comfort foods, but comfort foods done right. I got fish and chips and was extremely satisfied. For dessert we ordered a couple orders of deep fried oreos that came with chocolate milkshakes for dipping, simply divine, but pretty intense if you eat more then three in a row, I'm pretty sure your body would rebel against you in some way.

The majority of our days were spent playing bored games. Some of the most popular ones were Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Disney Scene It, Mario Kart on the Wii, and Compatibility. The girls usually liked to play Compatibility while the boys would battle it out in intense games of Settlers of Catan. Cassandra and I dominated every time, our great minds just obviously think alike. Time was also spent shopping, getting AMAZING bubble tea at Orange Peel my favorite was roses are red that is a mixture of red berries and rose hips, reading, napping and just enjoying the great company, it was so nice to just relax and not have a care in the world. The second day we ordered in breakfast from the Bear Paw and dinner at a yummy mexican place and made s'mores for dessert with Ghirardelli caramel squares, so much better then weak Hershey chocolate squares.

On Sunday, our last day there, Cassandra and Erick made the best homemade breakfast that ever was. They made biscuits with gravy, a basil potato fritata and maple roasted bacon. MMMMMMM I wanted to eat all the biscuits then take some home with me they were perfection, they even brought some of their homemade jam to complete the meal. Cassandra made her plate into a smiley face, it reminded me of Mulan "Your breakfast is here and it's happy to see you!"

We caught a ride home with Nick and Libby who had brought their adorable and spunky kitten Alfie. We were more then willing to share the backseat with this little cutie, seeing as both Bethy and I have and unhealthy fascination with animals. She made the ride home much more entertaining. It was such a fun fun weekend, I hope it happens again ... sometime soon!

In Loving Memory

Last week a tragedy happened, and my life has changed drastically. My dear dear pal, handicap pass T163213's life expired. He went everywhere with me and was always there, willing to help, when I needed him the most. He saved me from many stressful situations and brought me so much joy life without him has been an adjustment. I no longer have a reserved spot in my complex's parking lot, which has been hard to get used to. I no longer have privileged parking at BYU which was by far the best thing my handicap pass ever gave me, now I have to walk to school. We shared many many good times and memories handicap pass T163213 will be sincerely missed.
