Cherry Blossoms at the Capitol

We had been wanting to go see the cherry blossoms since they started blooming, but it's always so hard to find a time to go, luckily we were able to slip it in right before  the end of their blooming season.

Mom and I spontaneously took the kids to go see the blossoms one late afternoon/early evening for a fun and relaxing way for them to get some wiggles out. We happened to go the same day as prom, so V was in heaven looking at all the beautiful dresses.

The kids had so much fun running around beneath the blossoms.

After our stroll below the blossoms, we let the kids run around and play ring around the rosies on the large front lawn of the capitol.

Meanwhile, Mom and I relaxed on a bench and enjoyed the wonderful spring weather and the fun prom people watching.

V made a friend (she makes friends everywhere we go!) and she played tag with her for a long time around the big statue and fountain in front of the capitol. Monty tried his best to keep up with them and toddled after them everywhere they went. When he took a little rest, I tried to get him to take some pictures with me, but I could only get him to look at the camera if I used the hair color changing filter, it's one of his favorites.

This was such a fun, unplanned little outing. The weather was lovely and we all had the best time, I love low key, spontaneous adventures.
