Animal Kingdom: At Night

A little later on in our trip, we headed back to Animal Kingdom in the late afternoon so we got to see the park slowly transition from day to night. Seeing all the parks at night is always super fun, they look totally different with all their signs and twinkle lights lit up.

We got to the park with a few hours of day light left so we began with another spin on our favorite ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris. We saw lots of different animals this time around!

We also fit in another stroll around Gorilla Falls before it got too dark

The hippo was taking another nap when we visited him again, this time he was using a rock as a pillow.

We spent a little time wandering through a few of the fun shops

Then we went to a showing of the Festival of the Lion King. I'm so glad Laura knew about this and made sure we fit it in. It. Is. Spectacular! It was so nice having such a knowledgable personal tour guide who know everything about the parks and what was worth it and what would be ok to skip, she made sure we hit all the awesome rides, attractions and shows!

Then we walked over to Expedition Everest to use up some fast passes, when we got there there wasn't any line so we rode it a couple of times back to back! Woohoo! Laura tried to make me touch the Yeti on our second ride, and I kid you not, it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life haha

We then rushed over to the the tree of life theater to watch the Bug's Life 4D movie. I hadn't ever seen it before even though there is one in Disneyland

Since Animal Kingdom can't have an evening firework show like all the other parks, it scares the animals, they have a projection show on the tree of life and It. Is Awesome!

There are 4, 3 minute shows and they start every ten minutes. In between the shows the tree is lit up in lots of beautiful colors. It is super fun and unique.
