San Fran Girls Trip II

Waking up to this gorgeous view of the Bay was such a delight!

Alle and ordered room service to save some time in the morning

After breakfast and getting ready, Alle and I picked up Katie and Aubs from the ferry and we drove to Lands End to get some beautiful views of the bridge and enjoy some nature.

We had a lot of ground to cover since we only had one full day to explore the city, so after we got some good views of the bridge, we headed towards Little Italy to get some of the best pizza in the city for lunch.

It was such a blast driving around the city, with the windows down and the music blasting.

There was quite a wait at Tony's, so after checking in, we decided to get some Cannoli for some appetizers at a little family owned cafe near the pizzeria.

The cannoli were freshly handmade and were absolutely delectable

While we were enjoying our sweet appetizers, we got the text that our table at Tony's was ready!

We just had to get their world famous Margherita pizza, they only make 73 of them a day!

We also got a Burratina Di Margherita Sicilian style pizza which was a gold cup winner international pizza championships in Italy in 2008. In our opinion, we thought this pizza was much better, it was the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life, it was hard to stop eating once we were full.

After stuffing ourselves full of pizza, we walked over to China town. On our way we did a little shopping at some of the cute, local stores.

This may be the cutest card I have ever seen. I couldn't think of a reason to buy it so I took a picture instead.

I couldn't resist getting this glittery fog globe. It has fine, sliver glitter that swirls around the bridge when you shake it and as it slowly settles the bridge begins to appear agin. It is so magical.

When we got to China town it was a huge party! The streets were completely packed as they were having a Chinese New Year celebration, which was a surprise to us.

It was fun to see all the special decor and booths set up for the festival.

We didn't spend too much time in China town, it was just too crowded for us. But we stayed long enough to get a good feel for that part of the city. Then we were off to find those famous painted ladies.

We did a quick drive by of Lombard Street, we were thinking of driving down it until we saw the long line of cars waiting to go down, we decided a drive by was good enough for us.

We found the houses and listened to the Full House opening song on our phone, which was the soundtrack to all of our childhoods. We were curious of which house was the actual Full House house so we did a little research and discovered NONE of the painted ladies are actually the famous house, it's another house in San Francisco. We accepted the challenge to find the real Full House house ....

Ta Da! Challenge completed! We found the famous house used as the outside of the Tanner residence, it was easy to spot as there was a huge crowd of the 90s sitcom fans waiting their turn to take a picture on the steps.

After a quick nap back at the hotel, we returned to Ghirardelli to get some ice cream before dinner, yolo.

Cutest little sundae

We tried out a sushi place near the wharf and it was so good!

I tried one of their bento boxes, it was not only delicious but it looked beautiful as well.

After dinner, we headed to the BYU game, Aubs was able to get us all tickets!

It was a good game, and the cougars pulled out a win!

After the game, Katie and Aubrey needed to hurry to the ferry to make sure they didn't miss one back to their place.

The next morning, Alle and I got breakfast at Boudin, there were so many delicious choices it was hard to make up my mind. We were in a bit of a hurry to that narrowed it down to the pastries to go, but it was still a hard choice.

I ended up with these three beauties. I can never resist a croissant, it's always my go to pastry, the almond croissant was beyond delicious, it may have been my favorite of the three. The raspberry puff is also a big contender for number one, it was super good, I was a little worried it wasn't going to be as good as I wanted it to be, but it proved me wrong, it was much better than I thought it was going to be.

Katie happened to be teaching Sunday School that weekend, so we all went to church to hear her lesson. She did such a great job, I miss having her in my ward so I could hear her lessons regularly. Then we said our goodbyes and flew home. Such a fun girls weekend! Can't wait until next time!

  1. How lucky to find Chinese New Year celebrations! I love all the festivities! I also loved the stacked old books under the dome...that would be a nice detail for your office/library. What a huge amount of fun you packed into the day!
