Nuremberg! This was the only
port where it poured rain most of
the time we were there. So we saw most
of this city by bus. We did have a few minutes
of good weather that we used to see a small
part of the old medieval town
Nuremberg was the home of Albrecht Durer, who was known
for his woodcut engravings but was also a painter, mathematician,
and theorist. He was known all throughout Europe by the time
he was in his early twenties, and we got to tour his home! This home dates
back to the 1500s
Schöner Brunnen, beautiful fountain, is a 14th-century fountain located on Nuremberg's main market next to the town hall and is considered one of the main attractions of the city's Historical Mile. The fountain is approximately 19 meters high and has the shape of a Gothic spire. There is a golden ring
on one of the sides of the gate that is known for granting wishes. You make your wish and spin the ring clockwise three times for good luck. I left a wish at the schoner Brunnen, and I hope it comes true!
Interesting to see Durer's home...fabulous picture through the window. The golden ring ALWAYS works, it just takes time. This was a charming post; loved it.
