Animal Kingdom: Pandora

The next day, we spent the entire day in Animal Kingdom. We were all so excited to see the brand new Avatar land, Pandora. This new installment to Animal Kingdom opened at the end of May, so it had only been open about 6 months, it was so exciting to get to see it so soon after it opened!

We got to the park right as it opened and ran straight to Pandora. By some kind of miracle, we were able to get fast passes to both new Pandora rides, Flight of Passage and the Na'vi River journey. We had a little time to explore all the amazing details of this new land before our fast pass times.

Will, Thomas and James participated in the Wilderness Explorer interactive scavenger hunt activity, that takes place all over Animal Kingdom. There are little stations throughout the park, where explorers stop and learn about different topics and earn a badge, there are over 30 badges to earn. They had a great time earning their badges.

Our family always seems to color coordinate, and it is never planned! This has happened several times on our family vacations.

We caught a little bit of the Na'vi drum show.

The landscaping of Pandora is incredible, Disney does such an amazing job at transporting guests to other worlds.

Windtraders is the souvenir shop in Pandora.

My treat list, shared on the previous post, had lots of items to try out in Pandora.

Pandoran Tree Spores
These were pretty yummy

Teylu Gummies
To be honest, I was surprised to see these in person since so many of the disney food blogs I follow made a big deal about trying them and wrote fairly long reviews about them. They are just regular gummy candies, nothing special.

Pongu Lumpia from Pongu Pongu
This is a pineapple, cream cheese spring roll and it is DELICIOUS.

The Night Blossom, also from Pongu Pongu
This slushy is made up of layers of apple and desert pear limeade and topped with passion fruit boba balls. It is super yummy, big thumbs up for this one.

I got a few sips in, then let V had a taste, and then I never got it back haha But that was fine by me, I just wanted to see what it tasted like, I'm like she liked it so much!

The Burtons also got a couple Night Blossoms.

Thomas got his face painted and it looked awesome! Snakes are his favorite animal.

We had heard amazing things about Pandora at night, so we made sure to go back after dark to see it all lit up. It is pretty magical!

The average wait time for the Flight of Passage ride was around 3 hours, which is so crazy! But when we went at night, right before the park closed, it was down to 1.5 hours, so we figured we would jump in line since the parks were closing soon anyway. The wait turned out to be closer to 45 minutes which was awesome.

The queue area for this ride is pretty cool, you pass by lots of interesting things to look at.

Getting scanned before we could move on to the flight chamber, it's an entertaining part of the queue.

All loaded up on our "banshees"

The Flight of Passage Ride is absolutely incredible. It is so immersive and amazing, while I would never wait in a 3 hour long line to ride it, I can see how some people would be tempted to. It's pretty rad.
