Bratislava, Slovakia

This morning we woke up right as we were
sailing up to our first port, Bratislava, Slovakia.
The views were gorgeous as we sailed passed quaint
churches as well as majestic fortresses.

Bratislava is the capitol of Slovakia, and is also the country's largest
city.  Bratislava is the politicalcultural, and economic centre of Slovakia.  It is home to several universities, museums, theaters, galleries and other important cultural and educational institutions. Many of Slovakia's large businesses and financial institutions also have headquarters there.  The Opera house, pictured above, is a big part of the city's cultural draw.

We took a lovely stroll around the historic old town.
It is a wonderfully charming place with amazing architecture.

We took a tour of one of the Baroque palaces that
date back to the Habsburg era of Maria Theresa.
We weren't allowed to take pictures on the tour, so
sadly I can't post about it, but it was beautiful.

Our morning in Bratislava ended at the Schokocafe Maxillian Delikateso for
some local pastries and a refreshing coke light.  This cafe is gorgeous, I thought
it was the highlight of the entire day!

Then it was time to head back to the boat
for lunch and to begin our trip to Vienna!
I loved our relaxing morning in Bratislava,
I found it to be exceptionally charming.
