Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion

Matthias Church was definitely a highlight
of Budapest.  It is located in the heart of Buda's Castle District
right behind the Fisherman's Bastion.  The tile work on the
roof was intricate and so unique and the brightly painted
walls on the inside were like nothing I have ever seen.
We spent quite a while inside attempting to soak it all in

After our visit to Matthias Church we
spent some time at the beautiful Fisherman's Bastion which
is a terrace located on the Buda side of the Danube.  The
bastion gets it's name from the guild of fisherman that were
responsible for defending it's towers during the middle ages.

We got beautiful views
of the city, especially the Pest side
from the top of the tower

After our long day of touring
the beautiful city of Budapest we decided
to have lunch at the famous New York Cafe.
This establishment is gorgeous and is
definitely a must if you are in Budapest.
It's known as the most beautiful cafe in the world

They had amazing lemonade
concoctions which tasted so good
after being out in the hot humid weather
all day.  I enjoyed a green apple, vanilla limeade

Our day didn't end there
next we went back into the heart
of town to see St. Stephens, eat some gelato
and then we had our Budapest Baths adventure!

It is fun to see the trip through your eyes. Wasn't the New York Cafe exquisite?! Loved that day in Budapest, it was the best day of the trip!
