Afternoon Tea at the Plaza Hotel

Our third day in New York began with afternoon tea at the Palm Court in the gorgeous Plaza Hotel. Afternoon tea is one of my favorite things, so it was a must on my birthday trip! A few members of our party hadn't ever been to an afternoon tea before, and this was the perfect first experience, it was the perfect combination of whimsy and class.

One thing that made this afternoon tea extra fun is they have a Sparkling menu, full of fun and different sparkling drinks guests can enjoy along with their choice of tea. I got a virgin mint julip and it was the best mint julip I have ever had, all the flavors were so strong and intense yet blended to perfectly.

Jenny, along with Mike and Dad ordered root beer floats, how fun to have a float with your afternoon tea! See what I mean, whimsy and class.

Two teas came on one elegant, circular tray. Here are my and Jenny's tea spreads.

I got a cherry vanilla tea, and it was so delicious, it tasted a lot like candy.

The camera chose the wrong focus point, oooops

Since we had cute Vienne with us, we could order the special Eloise Halloween Tea (only for guests under the age of 12)

The halloween pastries were too adorable, a mini caramel apple, a black kitty macaron, all accompanied by a big bag of pumpkin spice cotton candy!

Even though my actual birthday was over, we weren't over telling people it was my birthday. Especially when the special birthday treat is a plate of macarons with a candle!

Part of the special Halloween children's tea was getting to go trick-or-treating at Eloise's spooky treat cart. The cuteness continues!

Baby girl was a little too tuckered out by the time tea was over to go trick-or-treating, so our server assembled a bag of treats for her and gave it to us as we walked out.

We explored the hotel a little bit before we left, it's one of New York's most well known hotels for a reason, it's breath taking.

After tea was another free afternoon for everyone to do what they liked. Jenny and Mike went back to Central Park to walk around and explore it a little more, Karin and Mom went to the Frick Museum (one of my all time favorites), Bethy went back to the hotel to relax and take a nap, while Dad, Reece, Vienne and I took off to explore the High Line, something none of us had ever done before!
